Many South African children do not have access to safe playgrounds that are of high quality and allow for access to interactions between different social groups. The 'Kids Emporium' provides children with safe and exciting play areas that are free of charge, that allow all children to play together and form meaningful bonds. This experience allows for the breakdown of social divisions that exist within South African society and allow children from a young age to be tolerable and overlook differences and therefore acceptance, in the fight against racism and discrimination. A simple graphic visual has been applied to the project, in order to make the playground feel fun, exciting and contemporary.
